appears to be a case of murder-suicide. prelimininary identification has been made on the remains and autopsies have been scheduled. the names of the deceased d n't be released until the autopsies are complete, but the state patrol says they are believed to be from northeast nebraska. the nebraska state patrol is being assisted in the investigation by the state fire marshal, the pierce county attorney and pierce county sheriff's office. . police in siouxxity, and south sioux city, are searching for the suspect that led them on a high- speed chase, this morning. police say the chase started on highway 77 in dakota county. the suburban or expedition did and exited on i-29 the vehicle continued onto dakota avenue going 60 miles per hour. the chase led into iowa on dakota avenue. the chase ended near the intersection of perry street and west 2nd street off of wesley p pkway. the suspect fled the scene on foot. police didn't find the suspect and currently do not have a description. they towed the vehicle was towed. visitation is underway for jeanne vakulskas, sioux city's first female firefighter. vakulskas died sunday at her
from 4 to 8 at mfyer brothers morningside chapel. there will be a vigil service held at 7:00 this evening. her funeral is tomorrow at st. joseph's church in sioux city. that begins at 10:30 a-m. vakulskas served from 1985 t t 2007. she was 63-years-old. an autopsy is now complete on the body of 18-year-old austin roberts. he's the spencer high school student, who collapsed during the championship round of saturday's spencer invitational. roberts never got back uafter he collapsed. this is video of a prior match, and not the one in which roberts collapsed today, the state medical examiner conducted an autopsy on roberts' body. results are pending further investigation. a visitation for roberts begins at 3:00pm on sunday, december 27th, at the spencer high school gym. funeral services are set for 10:30am, on momoay, december 28th, at the spencer high school gym. a soldier, with ties to
suicide attack near bagram airfield in afghanistan. joseph lemm was originally from beemer, nebraska, the son of shirley lemm from wisner. he was a 15-year veteran of the new york city police department and a member of the national guard. lemm was one of six u.s. troops killed monday when a suicide bomber on a motorcycle raraed into their patrol in a village near the airfield. during his time with the nypd, lemm was deployed twice to afghanistan and once to iraq. two years ago, he suprised his family with an unexpected homecoming in a reunion that was documented by a tv station in westchester, new york. lemm leaves behind a wife and three children. sergeant bowe bergdahl faced a military judge for the first time today since the u-s army decided to proceed with a military trial. during the short hearing, bergdahl was arraigned on charges of desertion and misbehavior before the enemy. the charges stem from his disappearance in afghanistan in 2009 in which he walked off a base and was held by the taliban for five years. bergdahl was released in 2014 as
swap, in exchange for five detainees in guantanamo bay. bergdahl deferred entering a plea until his next court appearance in january, and did not decide martial l th a jury or just one judge. for u.s. army forces command the judge explained sgt. bergdahl's right to be tried before a panel or a military judge, the judgege wished to enter any motions or plea at this time. sgt. bergdahl deferred all of these decisions to a later hearing." bergdahl will be back in court on january 12th. if convicted, he could face a sentence of life in prison. switching gears... looks like it might be a bit of a wet night. here to tell us t ron demers with our first look ron? a stronger south wind combined with a little more sun today to make for a warmer afternoon as highs made it into the 40s. we do have tonight brings with it a chance of some rain developing which could turn into a bit of freezing rain or even sleet

"for families that are having financial trouble, they often feel like they're all alone, that nobody cares," said major von vandiver, commanding officer of the salvation army of siouxland. dash cam video released shows a 13- year-old boy leading michigan police on a high speed chase. it happened saturday night and he had his eight- year-old sister in the car. county police say a deputy pulled over the black nissan altima after reports of erratic driving. the car initially stopped before taking off at a high rate of speed and weaving through vehicles on the highway. the chase continued until the driver lost control - crossing a grassy median into on-coming traffic. both the boy and his sister got out and tried to run away. the boy was taken into custody and the sister was turned over to the mother. police say the car belonged to the girlfriend of the children's father. police say a mall employee was shot in the shoulder during an attempted robbery this afternoon in long island, new york.
police say they got a call about the attempted robbery inside roosevelt field mall. the man who was shot in the back left shoulder is in his 60s and works at the mall. he's in serious, but stable condition. the garden city school district placed its schools in lock-out mode, meaning no one i iallowed to enter. the mall remains open. a secret service agent is missing his gun and badge. they were stolen in broad daylight monday. according to a police report-- the items were stolen out of the agent's persrsal vehicle... parked near the white house in downtown washington. a c-n-n source says the agent works in the secret service's presidential protective division... which guards the president and his family. in the police report, the agent told police he was returning to his car when he noticed it was not as he left it. beside his gun and badge... the agent found his radio, handcuffs and a flash drive were gone. no word on what was on the stolen flash drive. the secret service declined to comment on the incident. siouxland saw a bit of sun
